NEEDTOBREATHE Release ‘Prove The Poets Wrong’ Band Documentary

South Carolina rock outfit NEEDTOBREATHE have spent the majority of 2013 quietly tucked away in a recording studio working on the follow-up to their 2012 release, The Reckoning. Those sessions ended just last week, and with the holiday season upon us the band decided to surprise fans with the release of their very first documentary.

Filmed in 2012 as the band prepared for The Reckoning to arrive in stores, Prove The Poets Wrong offers a one-of-a-kind look at life in one of America’s best rock bands. From their humble beginnings in a place known as Possum Kingdom, to the sold out theaters they now fill with their music, the members of NEEDTOBREATHE have spent more than a decade refining their craft. Prove The Poets Wrong tells you how it all came together and offers you a glimpse at the lives the members lead off stage. You can view the film, in full, at the end of this post.

NEEDTOBREATHE announced on their official website recently that details for their fifth full length album will be released in early January. Anyone who preordered the album on the band’s fall tour will have a chance to hear music next month as well. A note from the Band: “We filmed this documentary during the spring of 2012. It is meant to be an intimate and sometimes painful look into our journey of great success, yet even greater struggles. Some of the footage is tough for us to watch at this point, but we believe that this chapter was an important part of the bigger story that is still being written. Much has happened since then, and 2013 has been a year of healing and transformation. We’re proud to say that we are getting back to what brought us together in the first place, and the new record is a celebration of that. We can’t wait for you to hear it.”

“For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” – Isaiah 43:19
