In what appears to have been a mistake on the website’s part, Bruce Springsteen‘s upcoming album, High Hopes, was put up for MP3 purchase in its entirety through Amazon on Saturday. Amazon has since taken the album down and reverted it to its officially slated January 14, 2014 release date.
According to those lucky enough to snag it before it was taken down, the album was only available to purchase as MP3s on a song-by-song basis with no “Buy Album” option. Since the incident, the album has made its way to file sharing sites. Both parties have yet to comment on the situation.
As one of the most anticipated albums of 2014, those who managed to get it early by legal means are incredibly lucky. The record features Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave) on eight of the twelve tracks, who has been playing with the E-Street Band on tour recently.
