Sledding With Tigers Join Antique Records, Announce Debut Album ‘A Necessary Bummer’

California folk punk outfit Sledding With Tigers have announced they are the newest members of the Antique Records family. The band will release their debut album, A Necessary Bummer, on vinyl and limited edition cassette in early 2014.

The first track off A Necessary Bummer, titled “Never Really Good At Sports,” is available for streaming starting today. You can listen to the song at the end of this post.

Speaking about the announcement, Antique Records co-owner James Shotwell commented:

“We could not be more thrilled to kick off the new year by announcing our plans to release Sledding With Tigers’ debut album. We have been looking for the perfect band to work with on our first vinyl release and as soon as we heard ‘Not The Beatles Yet‘ we knew we were onto something special. Dan is a great guy creating great music that makes you feel good even when you’re feeling down and we’re very excited to see what 2014 has in store.”

Self-described as ‘not folk enough for folk’ and ‘not punk enough for punk,’ Sledding With Tigers hail from the West Coast with a sound entirely their own. They play songs that they like to play. You can download their entire discography, for free, on Bandcamp.
