Roughly three-and-a-half months have passed since The Pixies surprised fans worldwide with the unannounced release of EP1. Today they followed that path once more with the release of the logically titled EP2.
Featuring four new tracks that were recorded in October 2013, EP2 arrived online early this morning. The material was produced once again by Gil Norton and longtime Pixies cover art guy Vaughan Oliver once again did the art. Fans hoping to purchase the album will find many options available, ranging from a $4 digital purchase to a $60 version that gets you the download as well as a 10″ vinyl copy and a hoodie. The Pixies also released a video this morning for the EP2 track titled “Blue Eyed Hexe.” You can view the clip, which was directed by Mount Emult, below.
It is too early to tell if this EP series will continue later in 2014, but if it does it would stand to reason the next release will surface sometime between March and May. We will bring you more information on The Pixies’ 2014 plans as they become available.
