Vampire Weekend Release Cover Of Andrea Bocelli’s “Con Te Partirò”

Over the years, Vampire Weekend have proven themselves as the quirkiest bunch in the post-Death Cab indie rock scene. Enter their contribution to Sweatheart 2014, Starbucks’ Valentines Day 2014 compilation, a cover of neo-classical tune “Con Te Partirò” made famous by Andrea Bocelli.

The cover adds the electronic element found on their 2013 record, Modern Vampires Of The City, and features singer Ezra Koenig singing in Italian. As strange as it is, the band recreates the song in their own indistinguishable style and pull it off exceedingly well.

You can stream the song (via Rolling Stone) and check out the full tracklist of the Starbucks Valentines Day comp after the jump.
