Two free songs in one day? 2014 is off to a pretty good start.
We try to keep the remixes posted on UTG to a minimum. It’s not that we don’t appreciate a great update on familiar favorites, but it seems every time we go on a streak of free tracks our inboxes explode with requests from every laptop-DJ with a Soundcloud asking for a feature on the site. We do our best to get through it all, but more often than not abandon our gmails after an hour or less and do our best to focus on other areas of music. The Chainsmokers’ remix of “Habits” we ran this morning was the only mp3 post of the day planned, but after a dedicated UTG user sent the following track our way we knew another post needed to be made.
Drake may still be cranking out hits better than anyone in hip-hop, but I know I speak for the entire UTG staff when I say our hearts will always have a soft spot for the Canadian rapper’s early work. “Best I Ever Had” was the single that launched Drake to international stardom, and this week the production outfit known as K Theory delivered a blistering new remix that makes the whole listening experience feel new once more. As much as I complain about indie artists promoting themselves before their material is up to snuff, we do want to encourage aspiring DJs and production teams to submit their new music to UTG for feature consideration. If interested, please visit our contact page for more details.
