It wouldn’t be Valentine’s Day without a film that looks so schmaltzy any ‘manly man’ would rather take a hammer to his own hand (by mistake, of course) than watch the film itself. For example, Valentine’s Day.

In 2014, the ‘must-see’ romantic film for the fabricated celebration of all things adorable is Endless Love. The film tells the tale of an upper class girl who fall in love with a lower class bad boy who may or may not have dark secrets. You can view the trailer below.

Endless Love is actually a remake of a film from the early 1980s starring Tom Cruise, which contained sequences of seduction (on behalf of the girls mother), as well as a mental institution twist. None of that seems present in the footage shown here, but if you do find yourself roped into seeing this feature opening weekend you can at least hope some of the original story’s second-half makes it into the film.

Valentine’s Day falls on a Friday this year, which is the same day Endless Love arrives in theaters. The film is directed by Shana Feste and stars both Gabriella Wilde and Alex Pettyfer. Comment below and let us know if you plan to take your special someone to see this feature opening night.
