Chuck Ragan Releases New Song

Punk rocker turned folk troubadour Chuck Ragan has proven his songwriting chops time and time again over the course of his twenty-plus year music career, and the Hot Water Music frontman’s reliability won’t be called into question on his fourth solo album, Till Midnight. His gruff voice and penchant for moving Americana songs are as present as ever on the album’s first single, “Non Typical,” which is streaming over at Rolling Stone.

The most noticeable difference between “Non Typical” and Ragan’s previous solo release, 2011’s excellent Covering Ground, is the addition of a bigger backing band. Electric guitars, a full drum kit, and an organ complement his familiar acoustic guitar and violin arrangements, making for a distinctly different but no less exciting tone than his past work.

Till Midnight is due out March 25 on SideOneDummy Records. Physical preorder information is still forthcoming, but iTunes users will be able to reserve a copy right here on Tuesday, January 14.
