Shakira And Rihanna Heat Things Up On “Can’t Remember To Forget You”

You may have an idea of what you think a collaboration between Rihanna and Shakira would sound like, but I am not sure anyone could be properly prepared for “Can’t Remember To Forget You.” In a time where it seems every top 40 pop vocalist is focused solely on creating club hits with infectious hooks, this song stands out as a rock-driven ode to heartache that grabs you early on and refuses to let go. You can stream the track, in full, below.

Shakira takes the lead on “Can’t Remember To Forget You,” and to be completely honest the music feels more suited to her style. Her delivery may differ only slightly from Riri’s, but there is an edge to her approach that pairs well with the crunchy guitar/drum combo that makes up the majority of the instrumentation.

As much as I love the sound of “Can’t Remember To Forget You,” I have the strangest feeling the general public may not be ready for the change of pace presented by the music. Comment below and let us know your first impressions of the track.

Shakira released her last album in 2010. “Can’t Remember To Forget You” is believed to be the first single from her new record, but at this time that information cannot be confirmed. Follow UTG on Twitter for updates.
