Watch First Clip of Paul Rudd and Amy Poehler in David Wain Rom-Com Spoof ‘They Came Together’

Paul Rudd and Amy Poehler in a rom-com? Of course it’s going to be hilarious, and of course it’s going to mock the whole genre. Wet Hot American Summer director David Wain is ready to tear apart the traditional romantic comedy movie along with co-writer Michael Showalter in They Came Together.

Thanks to Buzzfeed, we now get to see some footage from the film where Rudd and Poehler bump into one another in a book store. With different actors and a different director, this type of scene may not be able to hold up as well, but with Ed Helms, Cobie Smulders, Max Greenfield, Christopher Meloni, and many more actors making cameos, it looks like They Came Together will keep us laughing through until the end.

They Came Together premieres on Friday, January 24 at Sundance Film Festival 2014. For now, the rest of us not in attendance can watch the clip over at The Film Stage.
