New Bond Films Will “Build On ‘Skyfall’”

James Bond scriptwriter John Logan revealed the next two movies in the franchise will “build on Skyfall.” Logan, who co-wrote Skyfall, is on board for the 24th and 25th Bond films and has big plans for the next chapter in the spy series.

He told IGN, “My goal is to write a great movie that’s appropriate, to build on what we did on Skyfall, but make it its own unique animal,” adding, “The themes, ideas and the characters from Skyfall can obviously continue on, because it’s a franchise, and it is an ongoing story. So I think there’s a resonance from Skyfall in the new movie.”

Daniel Craig who starred in Skyfall will be back for the next one, Bond 24 (creative?), scheduled to hit theaters October 23, 2015. This will be Craig’s fourth time playing 007. He’ll then tie Pierce Brosnan with four, but will still be behind Sean Connery who was the secret agent six times and Roger Moore who has the record with playing Bond seven times.

Skyfall raked in over $1.1 billion, making it the most successful Bond to date, so will Bond 24 stack up? We’ll have to wait and see.
