S. Carey Premieres New Song

Sean Carey might be best known his work as the drummer of indie giants Bon Iver and (slightly less so) for his tenure in Minnesota pop punk act Small Towns Burn A Little Slower, but his solo releases under the moniker S. Carey have proven him more than capable of venturing out on his own. Carey will release his second full-length, Range of Light on April 1, and it promises even more of the sparse beauty that fans of his work have come to love.

Range of Light features collaborations with Bon Iver mastermind Justin Vernon, among others, and it also marks the first time Carey has recorded a solo release in a studio, having tracked his previous efforts in his home. You can stream first single from the album, an acoustic, harmonic-laden track titled “Fire-scene,” after the break. If you like what you hear, you can preorder the album right here.
