The Used Tease New Single “Cry”

This last year was a busy one for Utah-based rockers The Used. Back in July, the four-piece released an EP, promised a new full-length set for early 2014, and shortly thereafter trekked up and down the west coast with the support of William Control and She Said Fire.

Despite recent months of inactivity, earlier this week, the group made good on their promise when they released a teaser across all their social media platforms urging fans to “please stand by,” leaving many to speculate that new material was right around the corner.

This morning, I am pleased to report that such assumptions were in fact accurate. The Used are now streaming a teaser of their newest song, “Cry,” and you can give it a listen by following the jump.

“Cry” will be featured on the group’s forthcoming release, Imaginary Enemy, which is set to drop April 1 via Hopeless records. This will be the band’s sixth full-length overall, and it will serve as a follow-up to 2012’s Vulnerable, which impressively debuted at number one on the US Top Independent Albums chart.

The single itself finds the group branching out from their emo-namesake and flirting with a more refined, hard-rock sound, and based off this clip, I for one am excited to see what The Used have been up to. Be sure to comment below and let UTG know if you are too.
