The battle between Black Flag and FLAG, the war that nobody wanted, made a lot of headlines last year. It is the other project of Keith Morris, former Black Flag and current FLAG vocalist, that merits the attention.

A raucous group living up to their pedigree, Off! are preparing to release their third album since forming in 2009. Our first taste of the album is “Void You Out.” It’s brief, loud, and furious, as is the Off! way.

The track is streaming over on Rolling Stone, which also shares this description from Morris:

Who was here first? A bunch of uptight, always-right Caucasians with their heads buried up each other’s asses, trying to tell the rest of us how North American history went down and is going to be changed because of their intelligence or lack thereof. Thus: ‘Void You Out!’

The album is called Wasted Years – very punk – and is due out April 8 on Vice Records.
