Chiodos Release “Ole Fishlips Is Dead Now”; Reveal Album Title And Artwork

Chiodos has been “back together” since 2012, but aside from some shows here and there, they have been keeping to the shadows, quietly working on their new material.

Today we get a first glimpse at their work with the song “Ole Fishlips Is Dead Now,” which will be the third track on their album, curiously titled Devil. The album will be released by Razor and Tie imprint drk/lght Records on April 1, 2014.

On AltPress.com, where the track debuted, Craig Owens explains that Devil‘s title is “not to be confused with the muscled, red horned man surrounded by fire. This is about the temptations of everyday life; the things that become regrets; the moments where you are forced to make a choice that will determine how it is that you look at yourself for the rest of your life. This album is my definition of Devil.”

Stream the song on AltPress (or below). Preorders are not yet available.

Wow. The perfect marriage of All’s Well that Ends Well and Bone Palace Ballet with Thomas Erak thrown in for good (excuse me) GREAT measure. This album is going to be outstanding. Every member of the band is on showcase in this song. Can’t wait to hear more.

  2. Brian Lion says:

That whole breakdown section is surprisingly cool as fuck. Other than that, it sounds like All’s Palace That Ballets Well. Wish there was a little more Erak shining through but I’m sure he’ll have his moments on the album.

They’re back. Setting post-hardcore back in its place.

  4. Kriston McConnell says:

I am so excited for this album. April 1 cannot get here soon enough.

  5. Kriston McConnell says:

I’m sure he will. They can’t have Erak and NOT show him off, that would just be unfair! April 1 is so damn far away though.
