Are Nothing and Whirr Hinting at Possible Split Release?

Yes please.

According to a photo posted on Run For Cover Records’ Instagram, it appears that we may have a release consisting of both Nothing and Whirr, most likely a split EP, coming spring 2014. It is no secret that both bands are close friends, anyone who has been to their respective Facebook accounts will know what I mean. These two bands exchange members like no tomorrow, with members of Whirr and Nothing comprising Death of Lovers, as well as Whirr guitarist Nick Bassett currently playing bass for Nothing.

Whatever the outcome may be, I hope RFC announces it soon, because this pairing is one to bring the apocalypse. Well, that might be a little excessive, but both bands truly rule. Whirr’s latest EP, Around, rightfully made it on my Best Of 2013 list, and Nothing’s upcoming debut LP, Guilty of Everything, is currently my most anticipated of 2014. We will have to wait to see what these two acts are stewing up, but, in the meantime, follow me after the jump to experience some of Whirr and Nothing’s best, and check out the aforementioned photo as well.

(While the entirety of “Drain” is awesome, the track really kicks in around 2:15)
