Warren Franklin And The Founding Fathers Release New Song

Rockford, Illinois native Warren Franklin walked the line between emo and folk on his first two albums before recruiting a full band for his 2013 EP, Every Letter and Souvenir. Franklin and the Founding Fathers, which consist of drummer Stewart Oakes and “whoever is around,” will return next week with a new EP titled Now That I’m Here, I Can’t Imagine Being Anywhere Else. You can stream a new song from the EP right now over at AV Club.

“Any Other Night” falls somewhere in between Franklin’s early acoustic work and the raucous energy of Every Letter, with sparkling guitar leads and somber organ chords complimenting the singer’s belting notes. If you’re unfamiliar with his previous releases, this would be a great place to start.

The four songs on Now That I’m Here, I Can’t Imagine Being Anywhere Else will be available for free next Wednesday, February 5, courtesy of Count Your Lucky Stars Records.
