Wye Oak Announce New Album, Share “The Tower”

Baltimore duo Wye Oak have announced a new LP to follow 2011’s Civilian. Titled Shriek, the album will be out April 29 via Merge/City Slang. Along with this news comes a new single called “The Tower” off of said record in addition to the tour dates they announced last month.

Jenn Wasner and Andy Stack’s new album was co-produced by Nicolas Vernhes at Brooklyn’s Rare Book Room. Based on the production of “The Tower,” it looks like Shriek will be all about snappy bass and Wasner dancing with some light synth. It will be interesting to hear this one live at one of their shows (where, by the way, $2 from the sale of each show will be donated to a local charity, according to a press release).
