WEEKLY WAX: Vinyl Releases For The Week Of 1/26-2/1

weekly wax

As a site that covers both music and film, we always love seeing those two worlds cross paths. That’s the case in this week’s edition of Weekly Wax. Movie buffs who also happen to collect records are in, with a few new pressings on the way from Death Waltz Recording Company, including the classic Forbidden Planet. One of this spring’s biggest blockbusters, Divergent, is also getting the vinyl treatment.

Outside of film, Hot Topic dominated the week by launching preorders for two classic Avenged Sevenfold records, as well as announcing plans to carry exclusive colors for a number of upcoming Rise Records pressings. Get all the details, along with the rest of the this week’s vinyl roundup, after the break.

The standard, non-picture disc versions of the Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead soundtracks have been delayed until April.

It appears that Whirr and Nothing will be releasing a split through Run For Cover Records soon.

In addition to the two Dance Gavin Dance albums listed above, Rise Records will be releasing the rest of the titles in the band’s 6xLP box set individually this year.
