Rest In Peace: Philip Seymour Hoffman (1967-2014)

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that award-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead in his Manhattan apartment earlier today, February 2. He was 46 years old.

Though details remain scarce at this time, WSJ says New York City Police Department has already begun investigating Hoffman’s death and that the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has been called to determine the exact cause of death. The official said Mr. Hoffman, 46 years old, was found dead at his apartment at 35 Bethune St. in the West Village neighborhood of Manhattan.

Philip Seymour Hoffman has been the target of multiple viral ‘death hoax’ posts in recent months, but this story appears to be 100% true. We will bring you more details as they become available.

According to IMDB, Hoffman is credited with appearances in 63 films. He recently starred opposite Jennifer Lawrence in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and can next be seen in the John Slattery film God’s Pocket, which is currently seeking distribution following a premiere at Sundance this past January.

Though it’s truly awful he passed away, it makes me sick to see it was because of drugs. There are way too many celebrities (and people in general) who die from overdose of heroin specifically.
