Time Travel Film ‘Welcome To Yesterday’ Delayed Until Summer/Fall 2014

Just weeks away from its theatrical release the Michael Bay produced time travel film Welcome To Yesterday has been delayed.

According to THR, Paramount Pictures has decided to delay Welcome To Yesterday in order to devise a better and more efficient marketing plan. The film, which follows a group of teenagers who construct a time travel machine, was originally scheduled to open February 28. No new date has been announced, but the studio is said to be mulling over a late summer/fall release.

Aside from an initial trailer release in late December 2013 there has been almost zero marketing for Welcome To Yesterday, which makes the decision to delay for marketing reasons completely understandable. MTV Films will join the new promotional effort closer to release, with Paramount hoping the company’s seal of approval will help rope in a few additional ticket sales.

You can view the trailer for Welcome To Yesterday below.

Fun fact: Welcome To Yesterday‘s original title was Almanac. I like the original better, but can appreciate how the updated one grabs your attention.
