Stream A New Special Explosion Track

It’s only the second month of 2014, but Topshelf Records has firmly established itself as the label to watch this year. Although it is already home to You Blew It!’s stellar sophomore album, Keep Doing What You’re Doing, and next week’s split between Prawn and Joie de Vivre, the label’s late February release from Seattle, Washington’s Special Explosion may be its most interesting yet.

The Art of Mothering is due out February 25, and you can hear a new song called “Hide” over at Spin. Combining elements of their native city’s grunge roots with sparkling indie rock, “Hide” is a dynamic and at times haunting track that will leave listeners begging to hear the rest of the EP.
