Free Press Summer Fest Reveals Ridiculous Lineup

Houston’s Free Press Summer Fest (FPSF) announced its lineup today, and it’s a doozy. The two-day festival will be held on May 31-June 1 and features Jack White and Vampire Weekend in the headlining slots along with a rather eclectic undercard.

This is Jack White’s second announced festival gig as he was previously announced to headline New York’s Governors Ball, which will take place the weekend after FPSF. I hope it isn’t out of line to hope for a full summer tour at this point. As for Vampire Weekend, they’ve already announced a slew of tour dates and festival appearances (also including a prime slot at Governors Ball) for the spring and summer.

In addition to the usual supply of buzz bands and festival favorites such as CHVRCHES, The Kills, Washed Out and The Naked and Famous, the lineup also boasts some unique (read: oddball) bookings that save it from looking like just another festival lineup — Deftones, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Dwight Yoakam and DMX. Yes, DMX. Click through for the full lineup.

Two-day general admission passes are currently available on FPSF’s official site.
