Watch Mac DeMarco Roam Portugal While Playing “Let My Baby Stay”

It always surprises me that singer-songwriter Mac DeMarco is from Canada. He’s got the supremely chill ‘tude of a Cali dude, the closet of a farmer in Iowa, and the endless supply of blunts of a native Colorado kid. His music, however, has the relaxed tone and old soul of someone all of us can relate to.

The release date for his new album Salad Days (April Fools Day via Captured Tracks, which couldn’t be more appropriate) is coming closer and closer. In anticipation, DeMarco has shared a live video of him performing “Let My Baby Stay” around Portugal. The clip is directed by Hiro Murai and its quality matches the lo-fi style of his music. Watch as DeMarco walks around the country playing the song on a rooftop, on a treadmill in the gym, inside an elevator, outside a museum, and in the depths of a parking lots. As usual, he makes it work, because the singer is too free to be bound anywhere.
