Young Money’s Jae Millz has released a new mixtape celebrating the sound of early 90s hip-hop.
Titled 1990+, the first offering from Jae Millz of 2014 finds the YMCMB up and comer going in over instrumentals you may not have heard in years. It’s a collection of classics being given new life thanks to Millz’ gruff delivery. You can stream and download the album, which features thirteen tracks and no guest features, below.
Jae Millz has been poised for big things since 2012, but for one reason or another he has not cracked the code of mainstream attention. I doubt he’s going to get much further with this release, but that has nothing to do with the quality of his delivery. Millz is in top form here, but there is nothing you can market to people obsessed with whatever is currently hot at radio. This is for hip-hop heads, and in that respect it’s a damn good time. Enjoy.
