Watch: The Afghan Whigs Get Revenge in “Algiers” Music Video

After an eleven-year hiatus, The Afghan Whigs reunited in the summer of 2012 to prove they’re still one of the best live acts around. That run included stops at Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits, and continued into 2013 with the band’s memorable performance alongside Usher at SXSW.

I don’t think anyone (including the band) expected the reunion to result in an entire album of new material, but the band recently announced Do to the Beast, their first album in 16 years, would be out on April 15 via Sub Pop Records.

That album’s first single, “Algiers,” has made its way online today. The entertaining Spaghetti Western-inspired music video also sees Greg Dulli and company reunite with director Phil Harder, who has helmed a slew of the band’s music videos over the course of their career. The Afghan Whigs continue to hit the road as well. Their full slate of dates, which includes stops at Coachella, can be seen along with the “Algiers” music video after the jump.
