When Kanye West’s Yeezus dropped this past summer, it met a fair deal of criticism, with many critics reprimanding the Chicago native’s undeniably misogynistic lyrics. Likewise, it only seems fitting that the openly feminist Lily Allen would title her forthcoming album Sheezus.
The UK songstress confirmed the album’s title during her recent appearance on BBC’s The Graham Norton Show, saying, “It’s a confident title choice…and a little nod to Kanye West.”
Sheezus, Allen’s first album since signing with Warner Bros. Records back in December, is set to hit shelves later this year. You can check out the album’s lead-off single, “Hard Out Here,” below.
