Kanye West Invites James Blake to Work on New Album

After a very successful 2013, Kanye West is ready to start recording and release a new album in 2014 — and he’s got his eye set on working with UK crooner James Blake.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Blake said that Kanye has recently invited him to join him in the studio. The problem for Blake, however, is that he approaches music-making in a bare, close, one-on-one setting; Kanye ropes everyone into one room in hopes of creating a think tank. “You know, the way that I like to work is bare bones and personal,” said Blake. “I think because Kanye’s such an accomplished producer, if I was to work with him, then I think we could do something together, and just together, you know?”

Previously Kanye said he hopes the follow-up to Yeezus is his own Born in the U.S.A. When asked about this, Blake joked around: “If he wants it to sound like Born in the U.S.A., then I’m not sure if I’m the one to ask… Honestly, I spend so much fucking time talking about Kanye West and Chance [the Rapper] and Drake. People ask me so much about it, but really up until this point, I haven’t had any time to act on any impulse, so all I can say is we’ll see and watch this space but there’s things coming. I’m really excited. My monotonous tone of voice won’t show you that, but I’m excited.”

His other collaborations with hip hop artists includes Chance the Rapper and remixing Drake, but he doesn’t want to share other future artists he may work with, saying, “I’m not sure there’s any fucking point in telling you because it just ends up on a website and then people think it’s happening and it doesn’t happen and then I feel like a shit.” We don’t blame you, James, but hopefully that means there’s quite the list of collaborations lined up.

Kanyetta is trying to hook up with anybody now, he knows his game time is over and holding on desperately to any fool that will keep him afloat for another few secs.
