No Sleep Records has long since established itself as one of the premiere record labels in underground music, and its second release of 2014, a split EP featuring Maryland emo quartet Have Mercy and Tennessee rockers Daisyhead, only serves to bolster the label’s already impressive catalog. Both bands contributed two new songs to the split, which you can stream over at AbsolutePunk.
Have Mercy’s side of the split picks up right where their 2013 LP, The Earth Pushed Back, left off, offering more of the deeply personal lyrics and excellent musicianship that have defined the group’s sound so far. This release will be many fans’ introduction to Daisyhead, and the quartet wastes no time making a strong first impression on their two thunderous tracks.
The split will be officially released tomorrow, February 25. You can pick up a copy on 12″ vinyl with a screenprinted B-side right here.
