Last night St. Vincent stopped by The Colbert Report for quite the chat as well as two bad ass performances. She’s a rock goddess, and Colbert is well aware of that. He gave her a lot of praise (calling her new record the “Top Rated self-titled album”) and got some good lines out of the newly gray-haired Annie Clark.

“I was in a room full of Nobel Prize winners,” Clark said when describing a story, to which Colbert said, “Is that why you have Einstein’s hair now?” Boom. The interview may only last a couple minutes, but the two made every second worth watching. Colbert was even brave enough to call her out on inflated words, asking for a definition for “Techno Shamanism” before she launched into “Digital Witness” and “Birth in Reverse“.
