‘Ant-Man’ Adds Patrick Wilson

Patrick Wilson has found his new super hero home: Ant-Man.

The Night Owl of 2009’s Watchmen has seen his stock rise in recent years with turns in some of the most successful recent horror films – both Insidious films, The Conjuring and its upcoming sequel – and he’s now the latest big name to be tapped by the Marvel films. With the number of stars being snapped up by giant genre films, it’s only a matter of time until everyone gets their first (or second) shot. See Adam Driver.

As for who Wilson will be playing, that’s yet to be determined. Numerous sites, including SlashFilm, posit that Wilson could be playing the Stark-like Darren Cross, he with his heart defect and piles of money. This would hint at Wilson being the film’s villain and Erica Sondheim being the female lead – possibly played by the already cast Evangeline Lilly.

This is all early speculation, though. Ant-Man hasn’t even gone into production yet, though it will soon. Its release is slated for July 15, 2015.
