‘Jurassic World’ Has Found Its Villain

As if we needed another reason to be excited about the biggest film of 2015…

First came the promise of new, gorgeously designed dinosaurs on the big screen. We were sold. Then came news that Star Lord himself, Mr. Chris Pratt, would be starring. Again, we were sold. Now, the Jurassic World production has revealed that Vincent D’Onofrio will portray the film’s villain. In the words of perhaps the wisest internet meme based off a Matt Groening cartoon of all time:

Yes, Variety has confirmed that Vincent D’Onofrio will be joining the cast of Jurassic World, which is currently set to open in June 2015. D’Onofrio is said to be playing the villain in the film, or at least the second villain after the prehistoric monsters. Kind of like Wayne Knight’s character in Jurassic Park, only thinner and less Newman.

D’Onofrio has played a number of bad guys over the years, but I think we can all agree he’ll forever be known as the second best detective to ever appear in the Law And Order franchise (following Jerry Orbach’s Lenny Brisco, of course).

Production on Jurassic World recently got underway in Hawaii, so there will probably be additional tidbits and information making its way to press in the weeks ahead. Follow UTG on Twitter for updates.
