According to a Billboard feature with Top Dawg Entertainment’s Anthony Tiffith, one of 2012’s biggest rappers, Kendrick Lamar, is said to be preparing a new album due out in September.
The album serves as a follow-up to his breakthrough LP Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City, and seems to be separate from the LP Lamar is putting out this year with his supergroup Black Hippy (Lamar, Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, and Jay Rock).
To tide you over until then, try to snag tickets to see him perform at Pitchfork Music Festival or get ready for his reworked version of Tame Impala’s “Feels Like We Only Go Backwards.” We’ve got a feeling both will help prep you for the big shoes he must re-fill with this new album.
