The Front Bottoms Release New Recording “Burn Harvard Burn”

It has been almost a year since The Front Bottoms blessed the music world with their Sophomore album, Talon Of The Hawk. This week, a new track from the outfit found its way online thanks to the upcoming film HairBrained, and UTG has your first chance to stream the song in full.

Titled “Burn Harvard Burn,” the latest track from The Front Bottoms is completely different than anything found on their 2013 release. The song, written originally by Glenn Morrow (president of Bar None Records, member of The Individuals and a), is a fuzz-heavy rock track that brings to mind the early-90s punk scene with thick bass lines, simple guitar, and a repetitive hook intended to inspire fist pumps and riots from coast to coast. Whether or not it will work is anyone’s guess, but it’s certainly worth a few minutes of your time. You can stream the track below.

HairBrained, otherwise known as the reason “Burn Harvard Burn” was even released in the first place, is a new comedy that hit theaters and various VOD markets on February 28. A plot description on IMDB reads:

When 14-year old genius/outcast Eli Pettifog is rejected from Harvard, he ends up at Ivy League wannabe Whittman College. It’s hate at first sight. At Whittman, Eli meets 41- year-old freshman Leo Searly. Leo, a gambler whose world has imploded, has dropped out of life to enroll in college. This odd duo becomes unlikely friends.
