Yesterday we brought you news of a rumor sweeping the net that Tool had not only confirmed the completion of their new album, but that they planned to release the record before the end of 2014. We warned readers it may be too good to be true, and it turns out – we were right. Dammit.
Speaking exclusively to Rolling Stone, Tool released the following statement regarding the progress of their new album:
“Last night, Adam Jones, in a private conversation with fans attending the Portland Tool concert, joked that the band’s new album was not only finished but coming out the next day. Unfortunately, his off-the-cuff joke was taken out of context. Work on the forthcoming album is ongoing and as soon as it is done, trust me, we will be the first to let everyone know.”
The wait continues…
