Yellowcard Part Ways With Drummer

According to a post on the band’s Facebook page, Florida pop punk group Yellowcard have parted ways with drummer and founding member Longineu Parsons III. In a joint statement, the band said, “Longineu has decided to pursue other musical interests. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.”

Few drummers have managed to carve out as distinct a sound in the pop punk genre as Parsons. In his nearly fifteen years with Yellowcard, which included iconic records like Ocean Avenue, he proved time and time again that he is one of the most consistent and creative players around. With that in mind, we at UTG are certainly looking forward to his next project.

While it’s hard to imagine Yellowcard without Parsons, the band will soldier on with a yet-to-be-announced replacement. Stay tuned for details on a new member as the band continue work on their ninth album.
