It has finally happened. ‘Best Band in Cleveland’ aka Runaway Brother has signed a record deal with Tiny Engines. The band’s full-length will be released on the label later this year.
I’ve had the opportunity to know Runaway Brother for quite some time. I’ve seen them play on stages, in basements, and even in a library. Each time, I’m met with the same feeling, the same question, “Why aren’t they signed?” I’m not alone. Conversation in the crowd of a Runaway Brother normally goes something like, “Holy shit, these guys are good.” “Yea dude, this band is amazing. They’re gonna blow up.” In many ways, RB was Cleveland’s best kept secret. Now the secret is out.
The band will release a 7″ in spring on Soft Speak Records. The LP will follow in the fall.
Fans of The Hotelier, Modern Baseball, Into It. Over It., and Say Anything will love this band. If you’re looking to get to know them, check out their latest release Bedhead here and follow them on Twitter here.
