Charlie Brown & Snoopy Go CGI For ‘Peanuts’ Movie; Watch The First Teaser

FOX Family Entertainment has released the first teaser to the upcoming 2015 cinematic adaptation of Charles Schulz’s beloved Peanuts comic strip.

For the first time ever, Charlie Brown and friends have been transformed into CGI animations in order to make the journey from newspaper to the big screen. The first trailer does not reveal much, but we do get a chance to see Charlie Brown and Snoopy in all their digitally created glory. I do have to give FOX credit, however, because the technique used to create the world looks far more like it was created by a paintbrush than something that fell out of Disney or Pixar studios. You can view the clip below.

Peanuts hits theaters November 6, 2015. That’s also the 65th anniversary of the comic strip’s launch and the 50th anniversary of A Charlie Brown Christmas.

As a lifelong fan of everything Charles Schulz ever created, this story is both the most exciting and terrifying post I have written thus far in 2014. On one hand I am thrilled to see these characters come to life, but at the same time I remember how turning CGI ruined Garfield and did damage to the world’s embrace of The Smurfs. For now, my hopes are high, but I am extremely curious to find out what exactly a feature length story involving the Peanuts gang will involve. Stay tuned.
