‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ Set 30 Years After ‘Return Of The Jedi’

Fans have been eager to get any info on the new Star Wars film, set to hit theaters Dec. 18, 2015. While there’s been plenty of discussion and rumors about the details of the film, not much has been confirmed.

Today, Lucasfilm and Disney have announced that filming for Episode VII, directed by J.J. Abrams, will begin this May at Pinewood Studios in London.

They also gave a little taste of what to expect from the new film, stating:

It has also been confirmed that Star Wars: Episode VII is set about 30 years after the events of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, and will star a trio of new young leads along with some very familiar faces. No further details on casting or plot are available at this time.

So no confirmation for the time being if Adam Driver will be the next Star Wars villain, or who else we can expect to see in the galaxy far away. We’re looking forward to finding out what familiar faces will be making an appearance, and what new characters will be joining the Star Wars saga.
