Weezer have posted a video and some photos to their official Tumblr confirming that they are currently in the studio, working on a follow up to 2010’s Hurley. The short, 20-second video shows grainy footage of Rivers Cuomo and company working on new material, with instrumental teasers of new music playing in the background.

The band played a new song called “Back To The Shack” on the Weezer Cruise earlier this year, which seemed to indicate that Weezer is back in a sane mindset after a string of several questionable novelty albums including the mostly-terrible Raditude. Regardless, new Weezer material is always a good thing. We’ll keep you updated when news about the record begins to surface. You can watch the teaser after the jump.
