LISTEN: The Menzingers Release New Song “I Don’t Wanna Be An Asshole Anymore”

The Menzingers will be releasing their new LP, Rented World, on April 22 via Epitaph Records, and have just released the opening track titled “I Don’t Wanna Be An Asshole Anymore” over at Pitchfork. You can listen to the new song after the jump.

Stylistically, the song follows the lead of the previously released “In Remission” in moving toward a Replacements influenced sound, with just a hint of Cheap Trick for good measure. However, the lyrics and attitude of the song are just as great as they were on the band’s critically acclaimed sophomore record, On The Impossible Past. We’re anticipating Rented World feverishly over here at UTG, and this song is a good sign. April 22 can’t come soon enough.

What do you think of the new track? Let us know, then head over to The Menzingers’ online store to pre-order the new album.
