Yellowcard Tracking New Record With Anberlin Drummer

Yellowcard recently shocked fans by announcing that they had parted ways with longtime drummer Longineu Parsons III. Today, the group has confirmed that they will be entering the studio to begin work on their new record with fill-in drummer Nate Young (Anberlin).

While LP’s departure from the band is still a sore subject and unsettling for longtime fans of the band, Nate is the most qualified person for the job. This news should quiet some of the speculation that the group had kicked out LP in favor of pursuing a more pop-influenced sound without live drums in the studio. Yellowcard has yet to comment on whether or not Nate will be filling in during Warped Tour this year, which both bands will be playing.

Yellowcard will be releasing their new record on Razor & Tie later this year. What do you think of this collaboration? While LP left some big shoes to fill, I’m excited to see where this goes and if Nate stays with the band after Anberlin calls it quits after their final tour this year. Check out an Instagram post from the band confirming the news after the jump.
