35 New Photos From Kurt Cobain Death Scene Released

Almost 20 years later, the Seattle Police Department has released 35 previously unseen photos from the scene of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain’s suicide. Cobain committed suicide in April of 1994. The cause of death is said to be a lethal dose of heroin and self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The recent re-examination of Kurt Cobain’s death has ignited controversy among speculators. Many still hold the idea that Courtney Love, frontwoman of Hole and widow to Cobain, arranged his murder to look like a suicide. Tom Grant, a private investigator, was hired by Love to track down Cobain days before his suicide after he left a rehab facility in Los Angeles. Grant is now the leader of a murder conspiracy theory. He’s stated that the fact that it has taken this long for the SPD to develop these photographs “speaks volumes” about the care taken throughout the investigation.

29 of the photographs are available for viewing on CBS News.
