Rockstar Mayhem Festival Announces 2014 Lineup

After months of rumors, speculation and leaks, the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival has officially announced the official lineup for the 2014 edition of the tour. Officially. The trek will be headlined by Avenged Sevenfold, who, surprisingly enough, are playing the festival for the first time, save for a few guest appearances in 2010. They’ll be joined on the main stage by frequently recycled Mayhem acts Korn, Asking Alexandria and Trivium.

But as usual, most of the fun will be had on the side stages, where the wide array of attractions include death metal veterans Cannibal Corpse, Ice T’s reunited rap-metal legends Body Count, nu-metal survivors (Mushroomhead, Ill Nino), underappreciated modern thrash masters Darkest Hour, the usual deathcore onslaught (Upon A Burning Body, Veil of Maya) and, well, whatever the hell a Texas Hippie Coalition is. The tour is also notable in that it will be Suicide Silence’s first full tour with former All Shall Perish vocalist Eddie Hermida, who joined the band after the death of Mitch Lucker in 2012.

The traveling metal circus will once again feature three side stages, with Victory Records jumping on board to give Mayhem their second label-sponsored stage alongside Sumerian Records, who has continued to have a presence at the festival over the past few years. The full lineup, complete with an announcement video and tour dates can be seen after the jump.
