STREAM: Donovan Wolfington’s New EP ‘Scary Stories You Tell In The Dark’

The emo revival was a hot topic just a few months ago, and it’s still a topic that’s debated today. Is it really a revival? Is it a term that only the more mainstream media uses just because they stopped paying attention a long time ago? Is it more of an emo reminder? Did anyone really need to be reminded about the mostly self-deprecating, morose genre? Whatever the answers to those questions, you should set them aside and check this out.

The emo/punk band Donovan Wolfington are streaming their new EP Scary Stories You Tell In The Dark in its entirety on MTV Buzzworthy. Out on Topshelf Records April 8, the EP borrows its title from a children’s book of the same name. Featuring 5 tracks of upfront, catchy emo / pop punk, the longest of which barely clocks in at two and a half minutes, readers can be confident that every song rips, and that’s exactly what guitarist and vocalist Neil Berthier wanted from the EP. “The idea behind the EP was to make a really badass 5-song 7-inch that flowed but was still bangers all the way through,” Berthier told Buzzworthy.

You can stream the EP below or here at Buzzworthy.
