Stream Lana Del Rey’s Disco-Inspired Single “Meet Me In The Pale Moonlight”

EDIT: Lana Del Rey herself tweeted that this song is actually an older song intended for someone else and is not included on Ultraviolence. The new single will be called “West Coast.”

No matter how devoted or casual a Lana Del Rey fan you are (if at all), it makes sense to associate her as being a pouty-lipped gal who sings her words dramatically as to emphasize the heart-broken pain and orchestrated swelling. Her new single, “Meet Me In The Pale Moonlight,” dropped today though and it’s quite a leap from any of those preconceptions.

Her upcoming second album, Ultraviolence, will potentially be released May 1, and if the rest of it sounds like this single, we’re ready to stop crying in time for summer. The disco-influenced single is bright and quite catchy. It feels a lot lighter than any of her previous stuff. Maybe she finally needed a break from all her heavy-heartedness. The only thing that could make this song more fun would be hearing it live.
