Folk punk duo Andrew Jackson Jihad are returning this year, but it looks like they’re verging away from their folk beginnings and dipping more towards amplified rock. The band have signed to SideOneDummy Records and are putting out a new LP on May 6 called Christmas Island. We’ve already heard “Children of God” off the new record and now we get another single, “Kokopelli Face Tattoo.”

While “Kokopelli Face Tattoo” is way less boppin’ front porch folk than the band’s earlier material, they’re still the same band in text with lines like “I’m a toilet in a restaurant / somebody’s gotta do it” and “Hating you won’t make you suck any less.” We hear you. Our two emotionally scarred soldiers are still truckin’ on, because some wounds won’t fade (and neither will our love).
