Trick Daddy Arrested At Miramar Home On Multiple Charges

Miami rapper Maurice Young, better known under his stage name Trick Daddy, was arrested yesterday at his Miramar home on cocaine and weapons charges.

Broward Sheriff’s Office task force members picked up the Liberty City native shortly after they acquired a “sniff warrant” (a document permitting the use of drug dogs outside a particular residence) from a local judge. After the rapper admitted to having both cocaine and marijuana in his home, authorities secured a full-fledged search warrant, and discovered a gram of cocaine in a nightstand, a 9mm Sig Sauer P220 handgun under a pillow, and an undisclosed amount of ammunition. Young, who has appeared on Billboard’s top 100 list multiple times, was promptly arrested and charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon, possession of cocaine, and driving with a suspended license. He was released from the Broward County Jail earlier this morning on a $6,100 bond.

Presently, Young has yet to publicly comment on his arrest. His Twitter account, which boasts of 94,000 followers, hasn’t shown any new activity since late Wednesday, and from all indications, those closest to the rapper have also opted to remain silent, at least for now.

As always, UTG will keep you informed as this story continues to develop. In the meantime, comment below and let us know on a scale of 1-10 how uncomfortable the above mugshot makes you–personally, I’m sitting at a 13.
