Hear Unreleased Chance the Rapper Song “The Writer”

Chance the Rapper has been on a roll this past month. He shared the “special” new song “Home Studio (Back in This Bitch),” began collaborating with Skrillex, and now he’s shared an unheard, older song that keeps his name in check.

The song, titled “The Writer,” is from 2012 and was done in collaboration with the production collective THEMpeople. To put it in context, that means this is from the same era as his 10 Day mixtape days. It’s a beautiful piano beat by Apollo Brown that makes his rap about his struggle to the top all the more genuine and soft.
