Required Listening: Antarctigo Vespucci – “Don’t Die In Yr Hometown”

Ready to hear your new favorite song of 2014? Good.

Antarctigo Vespucci may be difficult to pronounce, but the music created by the duo behind the band with that name is as infectious as the common cold.

Recently, the group’s debut album found its way online thanks to The AV Club, and while streaming its rock goodness we discovered a gem we simply had to share. We did not know what to expect going in, but by the time the first chorus of “Don’t Die In Yr Hometown” hit we were bouncing off the walls of UTG HQ with excitement. It’s surf-pop for people who want to fall in love, and you can stream the track in all its fuzzy glory by clicking on the stream below.

For those unaware, Antarctigo Vespucci is the new side project from Chris Farren (Fake Problems) and Jeff Rosenstock (Bomb the Music Industry!). Their debut album is expected to ship on vinyl the first week of June, but those ready to support the group can do their part now by pre-ordering the record via the band’s Big Cartel merch store.
